1 Health Infrastructure

Antalya quality of health and health infrastructure is also developed in parallel with Turkey in general. Total 17 state hospitals, 29 private hospitals and 2 university hospitals, 20 private medicine branch centers, 10 dialysis centers, 6 reproductive treatment centers, 6 oral and dental center centers, 19 polyclinics, 133 oral and dental health polyclinics, 2 hyperbaric oxygen treatment centers , 3 organ transplantation centers, 16 traditional and complementary medical practice and central units, various laboratories and institutions are available, all institutions are licensed by the Ministry of Health.

2 Emergency Health Services

In 112 Emergency Health Services units affiliated to our directorate in our city has 61 stations, 96 land ambulances, 1 air ambulance and experienced emergency assistance team  the technical equipment and team to reach the event in the fastest way in case of emergency health conditions  for our foreign visitors.

In 2018, transfer of 3940 foreign patients to hospitals was provided by 112.

3 . Service Process of Tourist Health

        A-Foreign patient - insured patient process

1-         Patient arrives to hospital with his/her complaints.

2-         The patient submits the identification document issued by the insurance company.

3-         The insurance company is contacted with the document submitted and the identity of the patient and the information of the patient are confirmed.

4-         From insurance company,  the patient's policy details and letter of guarantee are taken.

5-         The patient is checked for diagnosis.

6-         After diagnosis, the patient's condition is transmitted to the insurance and the insurance and the process are initiated.

7-         The patient is informed about what treatments are covered by his / her insurance. The patient is  informed for additional fees and  consent of the patient is taken.

 8-        The patient who refuses the additional payment or treatment will be signed a treatment refusal form and is discharged.

9-         The patient is treated.

10-       The services covered by the insurance are invoiced and forwarded to the insurance company in compliance with the agreement signed with the insurance company.

11-       The patient is discharged after receiving extra payment procedures (if there are) and payment confirmations.

12-       Within the framework of the agreement made with the insurance company, the original copy of the invoice is delivered to the insurance company and the fee is charged and received within the period of the agreement.

Provision and payment models vary according to the agreements between the corporations and generally take the form of insurance payment after service invoicing. This process works in the same way in public and private hospitals.

B- Foreign Patient Process in State Hospitals

1. Patient arrives to hospital with his/her complaints.

2. It is searched  whether the patient has insurance or not. If the patient has an insurance, he/she is contacted. If there is no insurance, the patient is assumed as a pay patient. Advance or prescribed treatment costs are requested from the pay patients (in line with the Public Health Service Price List).

3. If the patient has  insurance, the related insurance company is invoiced in accordance with the Public Health Services Price List.

4. For debts from foreign insurance companies (for real persons) are credit entries are formed and a payment is followed.

5. If the payments or returns of the credit entries cannot be made, the foreign patient credit return algorithm is followed.

C-Emergency Health Service Process

1-Emergency medical services and emergency patient transportation services are provided in return of the fees. However, 112 Emergency Health Services are provided free of charge to citizens of the Republic of Turkey who live abroad and have no social security. The income provided by the public ambulance service and the income from the emergency patient transportation are deposited to the trading capital of the Directorate of Health, which performed the first intervention for the patient.

2-Acceptance of foreign patients who apply to a health care facility in order to receive emergency health care services and unconditional response to medical emergencies are obligatory and should be without delay. Transactions related to the collection of service charges are made after the emergency response and care is provided.

3-Medical treatment expenses as a result of a traffic accidents are received from Social Security Institution according to the applicable legislation regardless whether the related individual (Turkish citizen or foreign national) has any social security coverage or not and regardless of their nationality. In traffic accidents, the person himself can not be charged for treatment. However, if the person receiving the emergency medical treatment as a result of a traffic accident and if he/she has optional travel insurance, then the charges can be charged and invoiced to the insurance company and  payment will be returned under the insurance policy.
